Jan Westberg, current president of Alpha Delta chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, attended the Psi State (Georgia) Organization Leadership Institute on Saturday, Aug. 16, in Macon. Lead by Psi State President, Gail Ford, DKG is a professional honor society for Women educators promoting professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. The organization has approximately 90,000 members of 17 member countries around the world.

Westberg attends conference

The leadership session was facilitated by Dr. Lace Brodgen, associate Professor of education and – Director of the Programme du baccalaureat n education at the University of Regina, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. Dr. Brodgen is a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International organization and is currently serving the Society as the 2012-2014 Northwest Regional Director and member of the DKG Administrative Board. Dr. Brodgen’s theme for the leadership training was Understanding Leadership as Personal Praxis.

Westberg said, “This opportunity to learn successful leadership strategies for women was inspiring and enlightening.”
