Services for Hollis David Arline, 76, Whigham are 1 p.m., Thursday, February 26, 2009, at Mount Vernon Baptist Church. The Rev. Mike Albritton, Rev. Nathan Fowler, Rev. Jim Weaver and Mr. Rick Faircloth will officiate and interment will follow at Mizpah Cemetery in Pelham, Ga. Active pallbearers are Melton Pollock, Dennis Green, Bobby Godwin, Stan Gandy, Albert Austin and Marion Crosson. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Arline, Len Arline, George Smith, Kenneth Williams, Junior Crosson, Jack Smith, Pye Donaldson, Jab Donaldson, Steve Godwin, Walter Godwin, Ross Arline, Harry Crosson and Daniel Goolsby. Mr. Arline died Monday, February 23, 2009, at Grady General Hospital. Born November 20, 1932, in Whigham, Georgia, he was a son of the late Emory and Berma Nesmith Arline. He was married to Carolyn Mills, who survives. He served his country in the United States Army, was a farmer and was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, where he also served on the Board of Deacons. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Mills Arline, Whigham; daughter, Debbie Arline Baird, Whigham, Ga., son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Lynn Arline, Whigham; grandchildren, Chris and Lauren Godwin, Pelham, Ga., Shane Baird, Whigham, Ga., Quinton, Tyler, and Ellie Arline, all of Whigham; great-granddaughters, Brownyn and Blakely Godwin, Pelham, Ga. and Cassidy Baird, Cairo, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Berma Nesmith Arline; brothers, Carroll Arline, James Paul Arline; and a sister, Evelyn A. Autry.
