THOMASVILLE — Thomas County Sheriff’s Office deputies are looking for a shooter after the report of an armed robbery Wednesday.
According to reports, deputies were called to a Highway 319 gas station around 7:35 p.m. Wednesday about an armed robbery. There, they met the victim’s wife, who said a black male, about 6 feet tall, entered the store wearing a black hoodie, black track pants, black slides and a bandanna covering his face.
Her husband told the man to step out of the store and remove the bandanna, which he did. The victim reached for his phone to call 911 but the assailant rushed back into the store, pulled out a silver handgun and told him not to call anyone.
The victim told the man he could have anything he wanted and as he put the phone down, the assailant approached the cash register, aimed the gun at him and fired a round that hit the top of the cash register.
As soon as the assailant fired the gun, he left the store, the victim’s wife said.
