TIFTON — Tiftarea Academy welcomed students for the 2019-2020 school year on Aug. 9.
Students were greeted by teachers and the panther mascot, who prowled the drop off zone and paused for photos with arriving schoolchildren.
Director of Development and Marketing Heather Fletcher said that this year marks the school’s highest enrollment in three years at 624 students.
Headmaster Stacey Bell said that all of the faculty and staff are looking forward to seeing what this year will bring.
“We have invested more funds into Upper School Music and we are excited to see what will become of that program,” Bell said.“We had a productive and positive week during Pre-Planning. We ended on a high note Thursday with a School Wide Staff Meeting. During this meeting I shared with the staff some thoughts, including one of my favorite quotes from John Wooden: ‘The teaching profession contributes more to the future of our society than any other single profession.’
We are blessed with the opportunity to influence and work with these young people. I continue to be amazed with the professionalism as well as nurturing nature of this faculty. They hold these students to a high standard all while making them feel like family.”
