The girls danced and twirled on the floor with their daddies, granddads and each other non-stop at the Father Daughter dance held Saturday evening at the Deep South Fair Grounds. Calling it another successful event, Tamela LeSuer, president of the Thomasville Thomas County Father Daughter Dance, Inc. said it was a memorable night for everyone.
Families showed up from all over the county for this celebration.
“We’re so happy that this event has become such a ‘must attend’ staple for county families,” LeSuer said. “It’s such a gratifying experience to see so many young girls enjoy one-on-one time with their fathers.
“Local establishments donated such quality raffle prizes, and local food vendors stepped up to provide us with an abundance of food,” she said.
No one walked away empty handed as gift baskets were distributed to every girl.
By the end of the evening lines formed outside for the chance of a photo opportunity with the docile “unicorn ponies” who posed like pros while the girls fawned over them and even planted kisses on their noses.
At the end of the night volunteers were tired, but had smiles on their faces.
“It was worth the hours we worked year-round to make this truly a memorable night for our girls,”LeSuer said.
