April Boston incident ends with May capture of suspect

BOSTON — On a Sunday afternoon in April, people were gathered in a yard on Oak Ridge Avenue when a man arrived, pointed a gun at one of the people and pulled the trigger, the Thomas County Sheriff's Office chief investigator said.

The firearm clicked. The would-be shooter left the scene on the would-be victim's bicycle.

Capt. Tim Watkins said the men were seeing the same woman.

The bicycle was abandoned at another Boston residence, the investigator said.

During the Memorial Day weekend, deputies responded to a fight involving the Boston suspect, Timothy Terrell (also known as Jaws) Stewart, at a Summerhill Road mobile home park.

Watkins said Stewart escaped from officers and was later found hiding in a residence.

"When he got to jail and found out about the felony charges, he instantly wanted to go to the hospital," Watkins said.

Archbold Memorial Hospital emergency room personnel said nothing was wrong with the 42-year-old suspect.

"He came back to the Thomas County Jail and was booked in," Watkins said.

Stewart, of Paces Lane, is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and affray.
