CAIRO — Cairo Police has arrested two suspects who they say were involved in the rape of a Cairo High School student last week.
A 16-year-old juvenile has been charged with statutory rape while Kelvin Addison, 17, was charged with enticing a child for an indecent purpose.
According to a police incident report, a female juvenile told investigators that she left school the morning of Feb. 18 in a vehicle with Addison and the male suspect, who drove her to a nearby park.
Once there, police say Addison left the vehicle to take a phone call, leaving the two juveniles alone. The male suspect entered the back seat and asked the female juvenile for sex. When she refused, the female juvenile said she was then raped.
Investigators spoke with numerous individuals on campus throughout the week to gather information on the matter.
Further details regarding the investigation have not been released by the Cairo Police Department.
