THOMASVILLE — Autopsy and toxicology reports are pending from the state crime lab in the death of a man whose body was found on Cairo Road a week ago.
The 31-year-old Thomasville man, whose name has not been released, was found on the night of Tuesday, April, 27, near Cairo Road's intersection with Martin Luther King Drive. The victim's vehicle was found several hundreds yards away off the road.
Thomasville Police Department detectives are working with Georgia State Patrol's Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team in an investigation to determine how the victim died.
Using a drone, troopers mapped the area Friday, said Sgt. Scott Newberry, Criminal Investigations Division assistant commander.
"We're still trying to figure out what happened," Newberry said.
Video from nearby businesses shows several people slowing down when they saw the body. Some stopped. Someone called 911.
