CAIRO — The Jackie Robinson Boys & Girls Club will host its annual Diamond Affair dinner on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. at the Grady Cultural Center.
This year's Diamond Affair will mark a decade of existence for the Boys & Girls Club. The event will reflect on the club's history and the impact that it has had in the lives of club members.
"We are very excited to be able to celebrate the club's 10 years of existence, all the while benefiting an organization that is so important to our community," said Stephen Francis, club director.
Entertainment throughout the evening will include performances by Boys & Girls Club members, the Cairo High School Chorus, speakers and live music.
More than 300 community supporters are expected to attend the event.
All proceeds from the evening will benefit after school and summer programs at the Boys & Girls Club
"The Diamond Affair is an excellent way for you to support a great cause and give back," said Austin Hobson, board president of the Jackie Robinson Boys & Girls Club. "Because of your support, a major difference is made in the lives of our children and a wonderful organization."
Hobson said everyone who attends and shows support, whether through table sponsorships, volunteering or personal contribution, helps make the event successful.
Sponsorships start at $250 and may be purchased by contacting the club or visiting mnw-bgc.org.

"We are extremely excited for the event this year," said Amy Hagan, vice president of the Jackie Robinson Boys & Girls Club. "Over the past couple of years, I have had the pleasure of participating in the annual Diamond Affair, and in my second year as event chair, I have had the opportunity to see the Diamond Affair Planning Committee raise the bar for ourselves and the community. Together with your support, we truly expect this year's Diamond Affair to be the biggest and best yet.
