CAIRO — Police say a Dollar General employee was taking a deposit to a nearby bank when she was robbed in broad daylight.
According to a police incident report, a store employee was at her car in the parking lot of the Dollar General on 2nd Avenue SE when a tall black male wearing a white T-shirt approached the passenger side of her vehicle and grabbed a bank bag containing just shy of $9,700 in cash.
The complainant told police she attempted to spray the suspect with mace but wound up spraying herself instead.
Police are now searching for the suspect.
The incident occurred Monday just before 1 p.m.
