CAIRO — Cairo Police responded to an armed robbery at a local restaurant early Sunday morning, and now they're turning to the public for help in locating the suspect.

According to an incident report, two employees at the Domino's Pizza on Highway 84 were leaving the property after closing just past 1 a.m. Sunday when they were approached by an unknown individual in the parking lot who was armed with a rifle.

One of the employees told law enforcement he first noticed the suspect standing across the street. As the employee was entering his vehicle, he heard the sound of a gun being cocked back.

The suspect, who wore dark clothing and a covering over his face, demanded money from the employees.

Both employees complied with the suspect's demands and an unspecified amount of money was taken. The suspect then fled the area on foot.

No one was injured during the encounter.

The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 20-30 years old with short-cut hair.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cairo Police Department.
