THOMASVILLE — Ring in the holiday season in Downtown Thomasville with a festive day of shopping, dining, and prizes at the Holiday Open House. The Holiday Open House will be held on Sunday, November 22from 1-5 p.m.
“This event is a great opportunity for locals and visitors alike to begin their holiday shopping and enjoy a beautiful Sunday in Downtown Thomasville,” said April Norton, director of Economic Development. “2020 has been a year of changes and exercises in creativity for businesses across the nation. The businesses in our downtown have done an exceptional job making their shops and restaurants clean, safe, and ready to welcome you this holiday season and beyond.”
Main Street will be sponsoring an exciting Downtown Dollars giveaway promotion during the Holiday Open House. For every $20 a shopper spends in-store during the event, customers will receive a ticket to enter into a drawing. Five tickets will be drawn to win $100 in Downtown Dollars gift certificates. Downtown Dollars can be spent at over one hundred shops and restaurants throughout the downtown. Several convenient ticket locations will be set up along the downtown streets. The lucky winners will be announced and notified by Monday, November 23.
While you’re shopping, make some time for a delectable holiday treat from one of downtown’s many restaurants, cafes, and sweet shops.
“A number of outdoor seating options have been recently added to the downtown area,” said Christy Owens, Main Street and Special Events Manager. “This allows for more outdoor and socially distanced dining options available in our downtown during the Holiday Open House and throughout south Georgia’s beautifully mild winter season.”
Holiday music will be playing throughout the downtown adding to the merry atmosphere, and many windows and storefronts will feature imaginative holiday window displays.
“The Holiday Open House is a great way to kick off your holiday shopping early and to relish in some of the best holiday deals of the season, all within a festive and fun atmosphere,” Owens said.
Information booths will be stationed throughout the downtown from 1-5 p.m.to answer any questions guests may have. Free parking and hand washing stations are available throughout the downtown. Public restrooms are available at The Ritz Amphitheater and Park, as well as on Remington Avenue behind Subway.
