Fugitive in firearms case captured in Florida

TALLAHASSEE, Florida — A fugitive in a Thomasville firearms case was captured early Wednesday afternoon in Tallahassee.

U.S. marshals and Leon County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Torreio Johnson at 2372 Chateau Lane.

Johnson is being held in the Leon County Jail while awaiting extradition procedures for transport to Thomasville.

On Wednesday, June 26, Johnson was in possession of two rifles and a pistol when stopped by Thomasville police, said Maj. Wade Glover, Thomasville Police Department public information officer.

"Johnson fled the stop after having first provided his identification. Officers recovered the weapons, one of which was later found to have been taken in a burglary, and discovered that Johnson is a multiple convicted felon," Glover said.
