CAIRO — The Grady County Sheriff's Office will have three new vehicles following a unanimous vote from the county commission.
Enterprise Leasing was awarded 36-month leases for two 2019RAM 1500 Classic crew cab trucks and a 2019 Dodge Durango.
The sheriff's office had been slated to receive three new vehicles in the upcoming fiscal year, including two patrol trucks and an unmarked sheriff's vehicle.
A request for the new vehicles was approved and placed in the fiscal year 2020 budget, which was formally adopted Tuesday evening. The total combined estimated cost at the end of the lease, including the cost of aftermarket products, will be just shy of $70,000.
Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the ordering of vehicles from Enterprise.
Each of the vehicles will need to be outfitted with aftermarket police products, including top lights, a radio console, a radar system and a camera. The sheriff's vehicle will be unmarked and will include hideaway lights.
