CAIRO — The deaths of a Grady County woman and her teenage daughter have been classified as a murder/suicide by a Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab.
The victims were discovered at their Beth Page Road home on the night of Thursday, Jan. 28.
The husband of the suicide victim could not make contact with his wife and daughter late that night and went to the residence near the Florida state line.
"He called 911 to report his wife had committed suicide and shot her daughter," said Capt. Daniel Singletary, Grady County Sheriff's Office chief investigator.
The Grady County Sheriff's Office will close this case, and no further investigation is planned, Singletary said.
"The Grady County Sheriff's Office is praying for this family to heal from this," he said.
Singletary added the authorities are bound by law to release information on the close of a case.
