THOMASVILLE — Cairo businessman W. Dexter Harrison will be sentenced at 9:30 a.m. today at the U.S. District Courthouse before U.S. District Court Judge Hugh Lawson.

He will be sentenced on charges in the “United States v. W. Dexter Harrison, Martin L. Harrell and Charles L. Harrell” trial that ended March 8 in Thomasville. The case revolved around an arson fire at the Ramada Limited motel in Donalsonville, owned by Harrison, that occurred Jan. 7, 2002.

Harrison was found guilty of conspiracy to commit arson and mail fraud, mail fraud, arson and misleading statements.
