THOMASVILLE — Dr. Jim Cable qualified Wednesday to seek election to the Thomasville City Board of Education District 2 position he has held since earlier this year.
Cable was appointed to fill the school board seat when board member David Cone moved from the district.
The candidate qualifying period, which opened Wednesday, closes at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
Candidates may qualify from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. The qualifying period resumes at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the city administration building, 111 Victoria Place.
A receptionist on the first floor will inform Felicia Brannen, municipal elections official, someone wants to qualify. Brannen will escort the person to her second-floor office.
Masks will be available for qualifiers.
The school board election will be on the Nov. 3 general election ballot.
