Man charged with several sex crimes

THOMASVILLE — A Thomasville man charged with a number of sex crimes was denied bond and is being held at the Thomas County Jail.

Raymond Miranda IV was arrested Saturday after an underage girl reported to an adult that the suspect had raped her at a Thomasville residence.

The 29-year-old suspect was found sitting on a curb in the city and was taken into custody, a Thomasville Police Department incident report states.

Miranda was booked into jail Saturday afternoon on charges including rape, aggravated child molestation, false imprisonment, cruelty to children in the first degree, and felony sexual battery.

It will be up to the defendant to petition Superior Court for a bond, said Corp. Joey Blackburn, a TPD detective.

"We're examining physical evidence and sending it to the crime lab," Blackburn said.
