Calvin Wallace Burt

Memorial services for Calvin Wallace Burt, 70, Venice, Fla. are at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002 in Oakview Cemetery in Camilla. Mr. Burt died Friday, Dec. 28 at Thomason Hospital Trauma Center in El Paso, Texas. He was the son of the late William T. Burt and Lallie Carter Burt of Camilla. He graduated from Camilla High School and served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He then moved New York City where he studied and worked in color photography, then he studied and began a successful career in computer programming. Since retirement and moving to Venice, he traveled to many foreign countries and also places in the U.S., using his camera to expertly capture faces, objects and scenery. He shared many photos and narrations on his website, He is survived by two sisters, Lallie Carter Burt of Stone Mountain and Katherine Burt Bulloch Prevatte of Thomasville; and many nieces, nephews and friends near and far. -- Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home

Eleanor Allen Cassels

Graveside services for Eleanor Allen Cassels, 80, are at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 11, 2002 at the Cairo Cemetery in Cairo. The Rev. Richard Soper will officiate. Mrs. Cassels died Monday, Jan. 7 at her home in Stockbridge. Born March 23, 1921 in Grady County, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Robert Eugene and Evelyn Williams Allen. She was married to Oscar Byron Cassels Jr. who preceded her in death on April 11, 1993. She was a member of Stockbridge United Methodist Church. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Robert B. and Ellie Cassels of Goleta, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Bill Perkins of Dawsonville, Lou Anne Cassels of Decatur, Florence and Todd Kosloski of Hapeville; grandchildren, Elise Perskins and William Perkins both of Dawsonville, Joshua and Trevor Kosloski both of Hapeville; a brother, Francis E. Allen of Cairo; sisters, Katheryn Davis of Cairo, Virginia Allen of Cairo, Martha Brock of Whigham; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park Vista Dr. N.E., Atlanta, Ga. 30319. Palmer Wilbur Howell

Graveside services for Palmer Wilbur Howell, 94, Barwick, are at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 11, 2002 in Rosewood Cemetery in Barwick. Elder Phillip Howell and the Rev. Doug Harvey will officiate. Mr. Howell died Tuesday, Jan. 8 at South Georgia Medical Center. Born in Thomas County, Ga., he was the son of Fulton and Edna Joiner Howell. He was the owner/operator of a grocery store and a member of Barwick Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Essie Howell of Barwick; a daughter, Shirley (Gene) Bradley of Thomasville; a son, Ray (Jeanette) Howell of Barwick; four grandchildren, Kenny Howell, Jimmy Bradley, Lynn Barrett, Shannon Bradley; two great-grandchildren, April Howell Nixon, Coby Barrett; a sister, Vera NeSmith of Coolidge; and a brother, James Howell of Boston.
