CAIRO — Qualifying fees have been set for a slate of Grady County elections that will take place in 2020.
Elected positions up for grabs next year in Grady County include three seats on the county commission, three seats on the board of education, sheriff, probate judge, clerk of superior court, chief magistrate, tax commissioner and coroner.
Qualifying fees for county commission seats 1, 3 and 4 will be $179. Fees for school board seats 1, 3 and 4 will be $18.
For sheriff, the qualifying fee will be $1,779.87.
Candidates seeking to run for probate judge, chief magistrate, clerk of court or tax commissioner will have to pay a $1,491.65 fee.
The qualifying fee for the office of coroner will be $108.
The Grady County Board of Commissioners set the fees in a unanimous vote Tuesday morning.
