Recently, an SRTC class went back-to-school shopping together, but they didn’t buy a single item for themselves.
Courtney Loftis, an SRTC alumna, Archbold rad tech, and clinical instructor for SRTC’s Radiologic Technology program is also the mom to a 5-year-old son who recently underwent open heart surgery. This was the family’s third time down the hard road of heart surgery, as Loftis and her youngest son have each already survived an open heart surgery.Â
Loftis and her sons all have a congenital heart disease called scimitar syndrome. The current class of SRTC-Thomasville Rad Tech students wanted to show their love and support for their clinical instructor and her family, so together, they collected everything on the boys’ school supply lists.
