THOMASVILLE — While looking for illegal drugs at a Sanford Road residence, narcotics agents found not only chemical contraband, but a number of items stolen from vehicles and houses.
The mobile home was occupied and controlled by Albert Lee Brown Jr., also known as A.B., 33, 144 S. Sanford Road.
A search warrant was executed at the dwelling late Friday afternoon, with Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice Division agents covering front and rear doors.
Brown and his brother, Gordon Johnson Reynolds, were apprehended as they tried to escape through the back door, said a narcotics/vice division spokesman.
Crack cocaine was found on Reynolds and on the floor near Brown.
Marijuana was found in a vehicle belonging to Nathaniel Brinson, also known as Junebug, who was at the residence.
Officers found purses containing checkbooks, credit cards and identification papers.
“We also found a TV hidden in a back bedroom closet,” the spokesman said. Loaded Ruger and Glock handguns also were found in the closet.
The Ruger was stolen. Ownership of the Glock is being investigated.
A television being used to play video games when agents entered the house was taken in a burglary investigated by the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.
“We also found two handguns underneath the mobile home — a High-Point .380 handgun and a revolver,” the spokesman said.
The box in which the .380 was purchased was found in a locked tool box in a pickup truck parked in the yard. Brown’s driver’s license was found in the vehicle.
Some of the items found were stolen in cases being investigated by the Thomasville Police Department Criminal Investigations Division.
Brown is charged with cocaine possession with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and theft by receiving stolen property.
Reynolds, 28, 1443 Sanford Road, No. 4, is charged with cocaine possession with intent to distribute.
Brinson, 25, 1640 Sanford Road, is charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession.
