THOMASVILLE — Two people died Thursday from injuries suffered in a one-vehicle pre-dawn crash on a city street.
A 2006 Lexus was traveling south on Fletcher Street near the intersection of Fletcher and Lester Street about 2:15 a.m.
The Lexus, driven by Todd Asbey, 30, 309 Pear St., crossed the centerline and struck a concrete curb, said Thomasville Post 12 Georgia State Patrol Trooper 1st Class Nick Johnson.
"It struck a curb and vaulted. While airborne, the vehicle struck a tree," the trooper said.
The Lexus overturned several times and came to rest on its roof.
Asbey was partially ejected. The passenger, Ah'yahna Williams, 20, 321 W. Monroe St., was ejected.
Johnson said the vehicle's occupants were not wearing seatbelts.
Asbey died at the scene. Williams was pronounced dead at Archbold Memorial Hospital.
"They both received severe trauma," the trooper said.
The crash occurred about 200 feet north of a traffic light at the intersection.
Johnson said attempts will be made to determine if speed was a factor in the crash.
