State House District 173 Rep. Darlene Taylor, R-Thomasville, appears destined for victory in her Republican primary race.
According to the Georgia Secretary of State website, Taylor had 1,907 votes to Clark's 1,767 at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
With all 20 Thomas County precincts reporting,Taylor outdistanced opponent Clark 879-348. In Grady County, Clark received 1,280 votes to Taylor's 825.
For the state Senate District 8 seat, Ellis Black led a three-way Republican race with 4,024 votes. John Page had 2,410 votes, with 1.806 ballots cast for Richard Raines.
In a non-partisan race for a Southern Judicial Circuit Superior Court judgeship, Brian McDaniel was ahead with 8.393 votes to 4,533 for Vernita Bender and 4,543 for Jason Cain.
Meigs voters had cast 56 votes in favor of Sunday alcohol sales to 30 nay votes.
Incumbent Gov. Nathan Deal won handily in Thomas County with 1,630 votes and 1,360 in Grady County. In Thomas County, Jack Kingston led the field of Republican candidates seeking a Georgia U.S. Senate seat with 903 votes. The Kingston vote in Grady was 524.
Michelle Nunn was the top Thomas vote-getter among Democrats vying for the U.S. Senate seat with 628 votes. In Grady County, Nunn garnered 373 votes.
In Grady County, Ray Prince, Joshua Bell and Vivian Childs were elected District 2 Grady County commissioner, Grady County State Court judge and Congressional District 2 Republican victor, respectively.
Prince received 408 votes to 96 for Billy Poitevint and 80 for Richard Powell.
Bell was elected Grady County State Court judge with 1,539 votes. Todd Butler received 814 votes, and Jami Lewis had 525 votes.
In the District 2 congressional race, Childs won the Republican contest with 905 votes. GOP candidate Greg Duke received 768 votes.
State school superintendent candidate Michael Buck was the Republican victor in Thomas County with 663 votes. Buck also won in Grady County with 332 votes.
With 327 votes, the Thomas County electorate favored Valarie Wilson among Democrats vying for state school chief. Wilson also was the Democrat favorite in Grady County with 202 votes.
