Thomas County Central and Cairo enjoyed the best seasons in the area this year.

They were rewarded on the annual Times-Enterprise All-Area team.

Led by offensive player of the year Adam Choice and defensive player of the year, Jamal McNeil, Central had six first-team selections on offense and defense.

Along with Choice, the signal-caller who tallied 23 rushing touchdowns, Central's offense featured dangerous weapons in running back Deondre Cooksey and receiver Malcolm McClenton. Cooksey was fourth in the area with 815 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns. McClenton led the area with 12 receptions.

Central had three offensive linemen — Reggie Mobley, Hunter Parmer and Caleb Autrey — selected. The trio helped pave the way for Region 1-AAAAA’s leading rushing attack.
