A trio of Thomasvill defenders, including Chris Mickens (25), tackle a Stewart County running back.

The Thomasville Bulldogs may have stumbled out of the 2012 starting gate, but they definitely hit their stride Friday night.

Outscored 62-7 in their first two games, the Bulldogs blasted the Stewart County Knights 58-0 after racing to a 37-0 first-quarter lead. They were in front 51-0 at halftime, rolling up 384 yards in the process.

Thomasville established its dominance on the first snap from scrimmage as Mario Cherry galloped 73 yards for a touchdown. The Knights (0-3), as was the case all night, were fooled by misdirection plays as Cherry cut back into the middle of the field after taking a handoff.

Cherry also scored on runs of 17 and 11 yards before leaving the game with 165 yards on seven first-quarter carries.

The Bulldogs took the air for their fourth touchdown, a perfect 30-yard strike from Payton Dixon to Javier McGriff.
