The Thomas County Central High School boys Yellow Jacket soccer team defeated Colquitt County Tuesday night, 2-1.
After a scoreless first half, the Yellow Jackets made a goal five minutes into the second half as Ankit Patel scored on a follow up of a shot by Noah Voyles that bounced off the goalpost and the Colquitt goalie.
Colquitt tied the game 15 minutes into the second half. The Yellow Jackets went back ahead with 13 minutes left in the game on a header by Noah Voyles into the goal off a corner kick by Austin McLeod.
The Yellow Jackets withstood a furious attack in the last 10 minutes by the Packers as goalie Chris Ojuro made several nice saves.
Central plays at Ware County Friday. The girls play at 5:30 p.m. and the boys afterward at 7:30 p.m.
