ALBANY — The Cairo Syrupmakers are heading into the Class AAAA state playoffs on a roll.

Cairo scored four first-half touchdowns and posted a 48-7 win over Westover, finishing the regular season with a 6-3 record. 

The Syrupmakers will host New Hampstead in the first round of the state playoffs.

Braylon Robinson threw for two touchdowns and ran for another, and Gary Davis added a short touchdown run to put the Syrupmakers up 28-0.

Robinson opened the scoring with a long touchdown throw to Tyree Kelly, and added a touchdown toss to Mo Wilson in the second quarter. 

Robinson had a 3-yard rushing score in the first quarter.

Amarion Byrden scored on a 3-yard run midway through the third, and Justin Gee-Simmons found Jaylon Spence for a touchdown to make it 41-0 early in the fourth quarter. 

New Hampstead finished its regular season last week with a 34-28 loss to Jenkins and the Phoenix are 7-3. They are led by former McEachern coach Kyle Hockman.
