THOMASVILLE — One of the state’s top sophomore prospects has announced his college intentions.
Thomas County Central defensive end Gabe Harris, an all-Region 1-AAAA selection, made his commitment to Florida State University official via his Twitter account Thursday afternoon.
“First, I would like to thank God for blessing me with the opportunity to play the game that I love and pursue it at the next level,” Harris wrote. “None of this would have been possible without the support and love of my mother.”
The 6-foot-4, 237-pound Harris is ranked the No. 85 prospect in the nation by 247sports.com.
Harris also had offers, according to 247sports.com, from Miami, Georgia and Georgia Tech, among others.
He is also the No. 8-ranked prospect in the state among the class of 2023 by 247sports.com.
“Thank you to Coach Woodson and the entire Florida State staff for believing in me and giving me this opportunity,” Harris added.
