THOMASVILLE — Thomasville High School’s Mallory Fletcher retired 10 of the last 11 batters she faced, and the Lady Bulldogs softball team held on for a 7-6 win over Brookwood on Monday.

Fletcher struck out 12 and allowed just two hits. All six runs were unearned.

Thomasville jumped out to a 6-0 lead before the Lady Warriors struck back. A hit batter and a wild pitch with the bases loaded brought in the last two runs of Thomasville’s four-run rally in the second inning.

A walk and three errors allowed Brookwood to cut the deficit in half to 6-3 in the third inning.

Ava Fletcher’s RBI groundout in the fourth pushed the Lady Bulldogs’ lead to 7-3. Brookwood scored three times with two outs in the bottom of the inning, two runs scoring on Abby Lee’s double.

Fletcher had two RBIs for Thomasville, while Jordan Williams went 2-for-4 and Myla Still and Gracen Hinson each had a double.

Lee, who also gave up two runs on just three hits over five innings in the circle, was credited with four RBIs for Brookwood.

Thomasville will host Worth County on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Brookwood will travel to Southland Academy on Thursday for a 4:30 p.m. game.
