Thomas County Central’s Adam Choice looks to make a throw during the Yellow Jackets’ passing session with Brooks County last year. After serving as a backup quarterback a year ago, Choice will assume the starting job this season.

The run-oriented Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets will soon get a chance to improve their passing attack for the upcoming season.

Starting Thursday against Brooks County, Central will play in the seven passing camps this summer. It should be an important learning time for this year’s Jackets team.

“Obviously, this year, they’ll be real beneficial considering we’ve got a brand new quarterback and a whole new secondary,” Central coach Bill Shaver said. “The 7-on-7 drills are probably more important for our defense than they are for our  offense. Our secondary and our linebackers get to see all kinds of different looks and formations and pass routes, all that kind of stuff.”
